When it comes to dimension and moisture content, a hammer mill is indispensable to crush raw material into silt form. The size of biomass material should be with the diameter less than 3mm. If the size of material is suitable for pelletizing, the hammer mill will not be used. Pellets damaged will cause many problems with dust when you operates a pellet stove. In order to cut down the amount of dust, sawdust is reduced the mixture in the pelletizing process. Instead, the moisture content is another decisive factor in the pelleting. Generally, the moisture content of biomass material should be controlled about 13% -15%. The moisture content is too high to make pellets, while the moisture content is too dry, it is hard to make pellets. So the moisture content have to be adjusted proper.
Test Moisture of Material
When raw material runs through in the home-use pellet mill, it utilizes steam and pressure to process raw material into pellets. Raw material is compressed under the pressure between the roller and die. The roller forces the raw material into the die, which convert the material into the pellets. After the pellets getting out of the pellet mill, the pellets will be cooled by the cool air, which can ensure the quality of pellets. It is apt to store and transport easily.
